What's been happenin'!

The past 2 months have been a bit crazy.  Not just while I have been here at the studio but we (Lauri and I) have been doing some traveling for both speaking engagements and conventions.  If it weren't for my AMAZING husband none of it would be possible.

If you haven't hear the news already at our own NH Professional Photography Association (NHPPA) I was awarded a Court of Honor Award as well as a Kodak Gallery Award for an image titled "Unseen Masterpiece".  Unfortunately, I am not yet able to post the winning images here (or anywhere- yet) because we still have National Judging to go and if any of the judges see the prints they will have to disqualify themselves from judging it - and I need all the scores I can get!  :)  BUT, I promise that I will post once they are done judging there!

I have to say that the woman that I used to create this image is stunning when she is expecting and I know this because it is her 4th baby and I have been fortunate enough to photograph her and her family many times before.  So when she came in for her belly session this time I knew that I wanted to create something amazing (knowing that this is her last baby) we needed to "go out with a bang!"  LOL  and that we did!  :)

In addition to the awards for Unseen Masterpiece I received the Peoples Choice Award for an Image titled "Bound by Despair".  Thi was a huge honor since it was voted on by my peers!  I am still thrilled!   3 of my other entries received Judges Choice Awards!

I also was given my "Colleague of Photography" (C.Ph) Degree though NHPPA.  This is a degree that is earned by volunteering time, entering images into the state print competition, and winning awards for prints.  It is an honor to have finally reached this level.

So I can say this has truly been a great year for me photographically speaking in NH!

These are a few images from the awards banquet in NH. (taken by my friend and colleague Jeni Sophia Courounis Leonard - Thanks Jeni!)
