My baby boy is growing up!

Well, yesterday I did the unthinkable!

I sent my son to high school for the first time! You try not to think about it, but it happens! And, here it is the begining of his freshman year! Seems as though I was just following the bus to kindergarten (I had to make sure he got there ok!) It is crazy how the time just FLEW by!

The truth is, that as a parent there are times that you wish that your child would get through a stage quickly. The "up every two hours when they are babies" time, the "wishing they would say their first word" time, once they do, wishing they would stop talking for 2 minutes! Wishing them to be a little more independent, than hoping they will still cuddle with you on the couch! It's a roller coaster for all involved!

So here he is in High School, it is scary and exciting at the same time!

I was happy that he still let me do the traditional "first day of school picture" with me and I wanted to share it with you! This will be one of my favorite pictures of us from this year I am certain! I'm so glad he will humor me at times! He know what is important to mom! Of course he had to comment that it won't be long and I will be taking that picture of him in his cap and gown! (Thanks for reminding me Steve!)

Grandparents Day is coming!!!!

As you may or may not know Grandparents Day is coming in September!

I recently had a 14 year old girl come in for a portrait session with her grandparents. Obviously, this wasn't her idea, but her Mom felt that it was very important to have a portrait done with her grandparents. Very often we take things (like time with gandparents) for granted. I am telling you this because I found this particular session very hard to do. You see, the man that I was photographing reminded me very much of my own grandfather, whom I was very close to.

Yes, I have snap shots of him that were taken throughout the years, but nothing that comes close to what I was able to create for this young girl and her grandparents! It's funny, you could tell (of course, being 14) that she was doing this for her Mom and at one point I casually said to her that one day she would be happy that she had these photographs. Immediately, I saw a change in her expression and I can say that I got some of the most beautiful portraits from this session. Images that I have no doubt she will cherish forever!

These are a few of the images that I got from the session that day!
